Urgent --Please Act Now

******This is off another forum but PLEASE ACT NOW******
URGENT!!Now more than ever we need your help! There are numerous bills being considered by the New York State Senate and Assembly, two of which would impose a moratorium on natural gas exploration in the Marcellus Shale. Another, just recently introduced, compiles many of the anti-industry legislative proposals into one piece of legislation, and it would devastate our oil and natural gas industry if passed. We cannot let this happen. Please follow this link to send an urgent letter to lawmakers:http://www.capwiz.com/iogany/homeThese bills not only make false assumptions about the natural gas industry and its safety record, but also assume the process of hydraulic fracturing has been the cause of mishaps in other states. We urge you to tell New York’s lawmakers what we already know – hydraulic fracturing is not new. Hydraulic fracturing is safe. It is a well-regulated, environmentally sound practice that has been employement more than one million times nationwide without a single incident of drinking water contamination. It’s a fact worth repeating: Not a single documented case of drinking water contamination has ever been credibly tied to hydraulic fracturing. Not one. In 60 years. Please help and send a message today. And then come back again tomorrow - and the day after that - to resend the message. And please feel free to send this appeal to your colleagues, vendors, community leaders and other supporters. The next two to three weeks are very critical to the immediate future of our industry in New York.Together we can tell Albany that this legislation is unneeded, it will slow economic progress in New York and our state's silent majority stands in solidarity that the safe exploration for natural gas is good for New York
